The #1 Mistake Many Estate Liquidator's Make On Their Company Website
Here's the lowdown on one super simple change you can make to your estate sale company website that will help you interact better with both potential clients & customers.
Over the past few years I have personally looked at hundreds of estate sale websites in order to really understand the estate sale marketplace in-depth. This has given me a unique perspective in that I have been able to see trends in what estate liquidators are doing on their websites (and what they are not).
And here is what a lot of you are not doing - clearly stating what your service area is. I can't tell you how many websites I ran across where I was not even able to tell what state the company did liquidations in let alone what region it served.
Here's a quick list of why NOT having your service area prominently displayed on your company website is a mistake:
1. Potential clients may come to your site and not contact you because they don't know if you work in their region.
2. You may end up getting inquiries from states that are far beyond where you work and will waste precious time communicating this when you could be putting your energy into other areas of your business.
3. Estate Sale shoppers will also be confused about this & might never make it to your upcoming sales page.
4. People expect it - when you don't provide the basic information people are coming to your website for, you lose out on the chance to engage with people that are already showing an interest in your company.
Don't feel bad if you've made this mistake. I have been designing websites for over 15 years and I can't tell you how many times I've made similar mistakes. It happens because we forget to look at our websites from the perspective of the people who will be using it.
So here is my challenge to you. If you don't have your service area on your website add it today. Check out Midas Touch Estate Sales website for a great example of using imagery plus text to make it clear what area they serve. (Hint - they used a landmark to make it ultra clear).
If you already have your service area on your website, take the time to walk through your website and look at it as if you were a potential client or customer. What information is missing that they might need? What should be more prominent? Is there anything that doesn't need to be there?
